1. Man beaten, robbed at Vannie

Police said an unknown number of suspects in hoodies beat and robbed a 21-year-old man on Oct. 25 around 4 p.m. in Van Cortlandt Park. The victim was reportedly walking in the park when the perpetrators approached him and started beating him, stealing his Samsung Galaxy X3. The man was also reported stabbed in the leg, although there were no life-threatening injuries. The case remains open to detectives.

2. Cabbie ripped off, attacked

A roughly 26-year-old Hispanic woman dashed out of a cab without paying after a long ride, then attacked the driver on Oct. 24, according to police.

They said a male cab driver picked the woman up at the corner of 8th Avenue and 10th Street in Manhattan on her way to 263rd Street in the Bronx.  Around West 242nd Street and Broadway, the woman jumped out of the cab without paying the fare. 

She then opened the passenger side front door of the vehicle, punched the driver in the face and tried to steal his phone, police said.

They arrested the woman and the case is closed to detectives.

3. Drunk driver hits cop car

Police said a drunk driver swerved and drove over the divider on the off-ramp of the Major Deegan Expressway where it intersects with Van Cortlandt Park West on Oct. 24 at 4:30 a.m.

The car, a 2008 Nissan Altima, crashed into a marked police vehicle that was parked in front of the northbound ramp with its lights on.

Police arrested the driver, whose blood-alcohol level was 0.128, according to a Breathalyzer test.

4. Grand larceny auto 

A 2011 Acura TL was stolen from a 31-year-old man sometime between 3 a.m. on Oct. 22 and 3 p.m. the next day, according to police.

The victim said after parking legally in front of 3816 Review Place, he returned to find the vehicle missing. 

The case is closed to detectives.

5. Property stolen

A 24-year-old woman told police that on Oct. 25 between 3 and 5 p.m., an unknown perpetrator broke the rear window of her 2012 Jeep and stole property.  

The vehicle, which was parked on West 240th Street and Broadway, contained a Samsung Galaxy S6, blue Louis Vuitton wallet, a black wallet, credit and debit cards and loose cash.  The victim placed the total value of the property at $1,160. 

The case of grand larceny from an auto remains open to detectives.
