1. Man beaten, robbed at Vannie

Police said an unknown number of suspects in hoodies beat and robbed a 21-year-old man on Oct. 25 around 4 p.m. in Van Cortlandt Park. The man was also reported stabbed in the leg, although there were no life-threatening injuries. The case remains open to detectives.

2. Cabbie ripped off, attacked

A roughly 26-year-old Hispanic woman dashed out of a cab without paying after a long ride, then attacked the driver on Oct. 24, according to police.

They said a male cab driver picked the woman up at the corner of 8th Avenue and 10th Street in Manhattan on her way to 263rd Street in the Bronx.  Around West 242nd Street and Broadway, the woman jumped out of the cab without paying the fare.

She then opened the passenger side front door of the vehicle, punched the driver in the face and tried to steal his phone, police said.

They arrested the woman and the case is closed to detectives.

3. Drunk driver hits cop car

Police said a drunk driver swerved and drove over the divider on the off-ramp of the Major Deegan Expressway where it intersects with Van Cortlandt Park West on Oct. 24 at 4:30 a.m.

The car, a 2008 Nissan Altima, crashed into a marked police vehicle that was parked in front of the northbound ramp with its lights on.

Police arrested the driver, whose blood-alcohol level was 0.128, according to a Breathalyzer test.

4. Grand larceny auto

A 2011 Acura TL was stolen from a 31-year-old man sometime between 3 a.m. on Oct. 22 and 3 p.m. the next day, according to police.

The victim said after parking legally in front of 3816 Review Place, he returned to find the vehicle missing.

The case is closed to detectives.

5. Property stolen

A 24-year-old woman told police that on Oct. 25 between 3 and 5 p.m., an unknown perpetrator broke the rear window of her 2012 Jeep and stole property.

The vehicle, which was parked on West 240th Street and Broadway, contained a Samsung Galaxy S6, blue Louis Vuitton wallet, a black wallet, credit and debit cards and loose cash.  The victim placed the total value of the property at $1,160.

The case of grand larceny from an auto remains open to detectives.

Praise the Lord we have senator Elliot Engel making sure citizens cannot defend themselves from multiple attackers.

Engels "F" Rating shows how far a Nazi Jew mentality puts decent members of society at risk. It is G-d's Laws according to the Talmud that people have the right to defend themselves and their family and others from being attacked by savages

Elliot would have been thrilled if the person attacked died from their wounds rather then shoot these mongrels of society

How come politicians who have armed guards and are anti gun are not called hypocrites or just lying *!&^#%s as they feel their lives are more important then any other citizen

"people have the right to defend themselves and their family and others from being attacked by savages"

I agree completely but do yourself a favor. Rather than risk your life and the legal hassles for shooting someone in NYC, get yourself a large dog or two. Nothing works better as a deterrent against said savages.

So who's keeping Van Cortlandt Park safe? Summer's over and there's still litter and drug paraphanelia all over the place, and shady looking people lurking all over doing God knows what. The lake is full of trash. Not a cop or sanitation person to be seen. It's disgusting.

Holocaust survivor

I'm over 91 yrs and was approached around 9:30 PM while walking to my apartment building on B' way when 3 "minorities" 2 males and one female approached me and she said "you have some money you want to share" as she showed me a knife.

I pulled out a NON NYC licensed Luger (courtesy of Nazi officer I relieved him of his Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken) and pointed it right at her head

I am now the proud owner of a knife and no one was hurt.

I can never forget the night of November 9, 1938, violence against Jews broke out across the Reich and this was after all Jews had their registered their firearms they were then taken away for the good of deutschland.

It is a Shanda that Mr. Engel never bothered to read history which is doomed to repeat itself and how Engel took an oath to defend the constitution of this great nation

When ISIS like the Nazi regime starts their terror attacks here does the F rated senator think they are going to follow the anti gun laws he is so proud to have taken away the right to defend from law-abiding citizens

The police can not stop crime they respond after the fact.

G-d Helps those who help themselves, in spite of Nazi Jews that are self loathing of their heritage and freedoms this country afford all of us

To those who say "It cant happen here" look up Ruby Ridge and Waco Texas as my parents said the "Führer" will make Germany great and the envy of all of Europe
