Move over, Diana Nyad

The swimmers vary from year to year, but the ritual remains the same. Shortly after Labor Day, an intrepid group of Riverdalians swim across the Hudson from the base of the Palisades in New Jersey to a spot near the Riverdale Yacht Club and West 254th Street with teams of spotters and onlookers. Last Saturday, they set out around 1 p.m. Neither flotsam nor jetsam nor oil barge stayed these couriers from their appointed rounds.
