Nats edge Yanks to take NRBL title

It was the best of the best at Sid Augarten Field on West 255th Street as the Nationals officially kicked off summer, squaring off against the Yankees in the final game of the North Riverdale Baseball League’s major boys championship tournament.

Fans lined the perimeter of the field where the late afternoon sun cast a warm glow on the championship trophies waiting for their eventual owners.

Missed chances inflamed passions on both sides, and moments of pure excellence rallied the crowd.

It was anyone’s game at first, but the Nationals eventually edged out the Yankees 7-5 to clinch the championship and take home the trophies.
