To the editor:
As a man of a certain age, I may not walk as quickly as I used to. My voice might not be as boisterous, and I may ask you to repeat what you say from time to time.
But one thing has not diminished with my age — my right to voice my opinion.
Unfortunately, this right was stripped from me on May 7 during the land use committee meeting, as I was surrounded by loud, confrontational and threatening “neighbors,” so much that I felt I could not safely voice my support for the Hebrew Home’s community care retirement community without being heckled.
Riverdale is supposed to be age-friendly. Let’s remember to act that way.
