No A trains this weekend in Inwood

Posted

Subway disruptions continue this weekend as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority plans to suspend A trains between 207th and 168th streets this weekend because of what they call commnications improvements.

The suspension starts Friday, Dec. 15 at 9:45 p.m., and will continue to Monday, Dec. 18 at 5 a.m.

Those looking to get into Inwood, and even further into the Bronx, should take the 1 train at 168th Street. There also will be free shuttle buses on Broadway between 168th and 207th streets, as well as on Fort Washington Avenue from 168th to 190th streets.

The A train route will be even shorter on the other end that weekend as trains will be suspended in both directions between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway because of track replacement.

A trains also will stop at 155th Street and 163rd Street in both directions starting at 10 p.m. Friday for communications improvements.

There will be some disruptions to the 1 train as well, but as part of its Manhattan route. Downtown 1 trains will skip 137th, 125th, 116th, 110th and 103rd streets because of drain cleaning between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday. Uptown trains will make those local stops, however.
