No celebration for wallet theft victim

Posted

It wasn’t a party for at least one Party City employee last week.

The 28-year-old worked at the party supply chain’s Kingsbridge store at 171 W. 230th St., and told cops she left her purse in the back office around 6 p.m., April 16.

A coworker spotted someone sneaking around the back area of the store, police said. A couple hours later, the woman checked her bag and found her wallet — containing her TurboTax card, debit card, ID, MetroCard and $35 cash — was missing.

The store’s mall has security cameras, police said, which could help them track down the alleged wallet-snatcher. Yet it’s unclear whether there are cameras inside the store.

Detectives are investigating the grand larceny.

One guy was flying solo when he ran into a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.

The 47-year-old told police he was walking west on West 195th Street near Webb Avenue around 5 a.m., on April 17, when he ran into a woman and man who socked him in the mouth, knocking him to the ground.

The pair took the guy’s MetroCard, ATM card, and about $260 cash, police said. The couple ran, leaving the guy lying in the street with a broken tooth and gash to the head.

Paramedics arrived soon after, and police are investigating the robbery.

Clean break-in, loot seized

A Jerome Park resident is likely lamenting the loss of a treasure trove of jewelry plus a wad of cash. But what’s still unclear is who did it, and how they got into her home.

The 22-year-old told cops she left her apartment around 9 a.m., on April 18, only to find the place ransacked when she returned that evening around 6:30.

Gone were a Pandora gold bracelet, a Michael Kors gold watch, three silver wedding rings, and a gold necklace — police valued the bling at around $2,700 — as well as a Victoria’s Secret purse worth around $50, not to mention $600 cash.

With no security camera footage and no reported damage to the woman’s front door, cops have little to work with tracking down the stealthy thieves. But they’re still looking into the burglary.
