A. Broadway car chase

Police said that before 2 a.m. on Nov. 13, a 17-year-old was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry on West 254th Street and Broadway.

Officers said they observed the teenager make an illegal U-turn and tried to pull him over. According to court records, the 17-year-old initially pulled his car to the side of the road, but then he made another U-turn and sped off.

Police said he was going 80 mph in a 25-mph zone.

The driver sped through five steady red lights to move his vehicle into the southbound lane of traffic while traveling northbound, according to authorities, and swerved in between cars on the roadway.

Officers said the driver then jumped out of his vehicle and started to run away before police caught up to him and arrested him.

Police said that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license.

When police arrested the teenager, he had slurred speech and glazed-over eyes. Police also smelled a strong odor of marijuana.

Court records show that a male passenger in the driver’s vehicle was also apprehended. According to police, he was found with four clear Ziploc bags containing a dried, green leafy substance that was alleged and believed to be marijuana. A cigar wrapping containing a substance believed to be marijuana was also on the floor by the front passenger’s seat in public view, police said.

According to the Bronx District Attorney’s office, the driver was charged with resisting arrest, unlawful fleeing of a police officer, criminal possession of marijuana, operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or a drug and reckless driving, among other offenses.

B. Gym robbery

A 30-year-old man put his gym bag in a locker room at a Bally’s Total Fitness gym at 298 West 231st St. on Nov. 11 at 10:25 a.m.

The man put his bag in a locker and secured it with a combination lock, police said.

When he returned hours later, the locker door was open and his bag was gone.

Police said that the thief stole a Chase debit card, a driver’s license, t-shirt, car keys and $30.

The case is open to detectives.

C.  Reckless driving

Police arrested a 24-year-old man on Saturday at 1:50 a.m. on the northeast corner of West 233rd Street near the Major Deegan Expressway.

Police said that the man was observed swerving in and out of traffic lanes and almost struck other vehicles in the process.

When he was pulled over by police, he admitted that he had consumed several drinks, police said.

He was arrested and charged with DWI.

D. Kingsbridge Avenue robbery

An 18-year-old male was coming from Marble Hill Playground and walking along West 238th Street and Kingsbridge Avenue on Nov. 13 at 2:30 p.m. when three teenagers approached him, police said.

They added that the teenagers demanded the victim’s cash and phone.

At that point, a 16-year-old perpetrator displayed a knife, according to police. Police said he then punched and kicked the victim and stole his phone.

Police arrested the 16-year-old and are looking for the other two perpetrators.
