1. Walking down Webb Avenue at 9:35 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, a 14-year-old boy noticed two other 16-year-olds following him, according to police. He turned back to the sidewalk but heard a quickening of footsteps. One 16-year-old lunged at the 14-year-old and placed him in a headlock, choking him and making him dizzy.

While the second 16-year-old kept watch, the assailant punched the 14-year-old three times around the mouth and pocketed his Samsung Galaxy phone, valued at $200. The 14-year-old was left to tend to a swelling lip.

“Webb Avenue is one of our high-crime areas,” a spokeswoman for the 50th Precinct said. “You’ve got to be careful.”

2. Clubhouse burglary

The clubhouse at Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course has been burgled once again. Some time between March 18 and 21, three unidentified men stole through a second-floor window on their way to an iPhone 5 valued at $700, a North Face jacket worth $70, golf gloves worth $30 and seven bottles of assorted alcoholic beverages worth $300, according to police.

They confirmed that the Edwardian clubhouse, which hosted athletes ranging from Babe Ruth to Jackie Robinson and Joe Louis in years past, has been the victim of a number of burglaries, the most recent of which came in 2014.

“It’s low-security and they need to protect the place better,” said a spokeswoman for the 50th. She added that detectives would use video recovered from the clubhouse to identify the culprits, who she said “were probably just some kids who wanted to sit around drinking alcohol.”

3. Apparent drug dealer cuffed

Cruising past the intersection of West 233rd Street and Bailey Avenue on March 17, a 50-year-old tossed a plastic Ziploc bag from the driver’s side window of his 2006 BMW. That was enough to catch the attention of police as the bag passed in front of an officer’s headlights.

Upon a traffic stop, the 50-year-old was found to be wearing a pocket belt stuffed with bags of cocaine in plain view, police said. A search of the vehicle turned up 13 clear bags of alleged cocaine and 18 blue bags of the substance. The difference in color may account for differences in the purity of the drug, police said.

The 50-year-old, who was driving with a suspended license, was booked for possession of a controlled substance.

4. Grand larceny auto

At 2 a.m. on Saturday, a 23-year-old parked her 2011 Dodge Journey in front of the C-Town Supermarket at 5249 Broadway on her way to visit friends. When she returned to the lot at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, she found that the 2-door sedan, valued at $16,000, was missing, according to police.

They said that the usual evidence from nearby cameras may not be available in this case. They closed the grand larceny auto investigation after placing the car on an interstate stolen vehicles registry.

5. Smashed windshield

An employee of Lease Plan U.S.A. at 3545 Jerome Ave. reported criminal mischief to a leased company car at 4:30 p.m. on March 18. The white 2006 Chevrolet Impala’s windshield was smashed on the passenger side.

The fractured glass was valued at $200. Because no leads were uncovered and the cost in damages was minimal, police closed the case. The driver is expected to file a claim with the car’s insurer.
