LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Thank you!

To the editor:

On Sunday, June 3, my parked car was smashed in a hit-and-run near BJ’s Warehouse Riverdale Crossing Mall.

The norm today is usually “do nothing, don’t get involved.” But fortunately for me, a wonderful good Samaritan left a note on my car identifying the make, model, and most importantly, the plate number of the perpetrator. Because of this unidentified person, I was able to trace the plate via the amazing 50th Precinct, obtain video surveillance from the highly trained staff at BJs, and have all the proof to force another irresponsible driver to claim responsibility for $3,500 in damages.

My car is 11 years old, 40,000 miles, and well maintained. But I dropped collision many years ago, so proof is what I needed to file a claim against the rogue driver.

I hope this Kingsbridge Samaritan reads The Riverdale Press — you have literally restored my faith in mankind.

Some days, it’s just hard living in da’ Bronx. Let’s all try to have each other’s backs more often!
