MC freshmen foster green goodness

The Bronx Community Green Fair is set to kick off its third year Sunday, Oct. 14 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, 260 W. 231st. St., in Kingsbridge.

Joining the nature preservation activities will be 50 freshmen from Manhattan College, along with the Earth ministry at the church. The students will use the day to help fulfill their community service requirement.

Activities include collecting compostable waste, urban farming and health cooking demonstrations, planting workshops, children’s games, a food bank collection, and raffle ticket giveaways.

The event also is an opportunity to learn about Earth restoration, urban and rural farming, and zero waste initiatives.
