Video: Mulling the meaning of new zoning rules

Posted

While The Riverdale Press has quoted activists and published editorials strongly against the mayor’s recently passed zoning changes, there are reasons to think the sweeping legislation might be a boon for low-income New Yorkers and the rest of the city, after all.

Jarrett Murpy of City Limits made a compelling case in favor of the Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) and Zoning for Quality and Affordability (ZQA) laws on a recent episode of “Bronx Buzz,” the new reporters’ roundtable hosted by veteran Bronx TV host and Van Cortlandt Village resident Gary Axelbank. He had me on the show, too, to try to help spell out the meaning of the alphabet soup of legislation.
