I was pleased to see that Sen. Klein was able to sit down with The Press and explain what the Independent Democratic Conference stands for.

I think it is time to remind everyone that since Sen. Klein has represented our community, he has always had our best interests in mind. For me, education is a top priority. Let us applaud Klein for his part in helping to secure in this year’s state budget a record $1.1 billion in education aid.

Also, let us not forget all he has done for education on a local level. Just last month, Klein and other local elected officials pushed the education department to allow 58 local students seats at P.S. 24. By the way, P.S. 24 is the same school that was able to purchase much-needed air-conditioning units with $100,000 in state funding secured by Klein.

In my estimation, these are just a few of Sen. Klein’s many accomplishments, and I think it’s time we start celebrating them.
