Where are all the Bx7 buses?

To the editor:

Scheduling on the Bx7 bus is atrocious!

On Friday afternoon, Sept. 1, I and others waited at a bus stop in North Riverdale for a full half-hour before a southbound Bx7 bus showed up. While waiting, three Bx10s went by.

When the Bx7 finally came, it arrived with a Bx10 seemingly attached to its rear. That made for Bx10s to one Bx7.

When the third Bx10 arrived, I went over and asked the driver if there was a Bx7 at the starting point at West 263rd Street. He said there were two. On my way back, I didn’t have to wait because there were three Bx7s at the West 231st Street bus stop.

This situation has been a chronic problem for years. Time after time, crowds of people wait for the Bx7 seemingly forever, while several Bx1s, Bx10s and Bx9s go by.

Then the Bx7 arrives in a herd of two, three or more.

The MTA’s scheduling of this line is an outrage that must be remedied now. The people of North Riverdale deserve better serve, as do all people who travel on MTA buses.

I am appealing to our local politicians to use their power of persuasion to see to it that the powers that be at the MTA do a better job for the traveling public.
