Will it end?

I’m sure the work going on in the Johnson Avenue area and on or near Riverdale Avenue in North Riverdale is necessary, but I cannot understand why it needs to take so long.

It seems to me that if sufficient and dedicated resources were put to bear, each part of the project could be wrapped up in days, not drawn out for many months. What I observe is work for several hours, followed by days of inactivity.

Do the construction managers appreciate the impact these repairs are having on businesses and residents in the affected areas? A merchant told my wife early last spring that his sales were down, and he was promised that the repairs would be completed by Mother’s Day. Five months later, nothing has changed, and there’s no apparent sign that the disruptions will end anytime soon.

The Empire State Building was completed in just under 13 months. The race is on. Will these relatively small construction projects be completed within that timeframe?
