To the Editor: Our values come from our environment. Parents are designed to provide our primary environment and extended family provides further environmental influence. more
(Re: “Pro-Palestine supporters: ‘Torres supports genocide,’” Oct. 26.) To the Editor: Many thanks to Rep. Ritchie Torres for his courageous support of Israel in the aftermath of horrific terror attacks as well as ongoing threats.  I regret that he has to endure absurd vilification by pro-terror Jew-haters such as those who picketed his office on Oct. 24.   more
(Re: Thanks to electeds backing, Oct. 18) To the editor: In his letter to the editor in last week’s Riverdale Press, local attorney and Jeff Dinowitz right-hand man Benjamin F. Jackson smears founding members of the Unity Democratic Club for allegedly not condemning a certain anti-Israel organization. more
To the Editor:  State Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz sent two troubling emails to constituents after the most recent eruption of violence in Israel/Palestine. In his Oct. 12 email, Mr. Dinowitz dishonestly mischaracterized Jewish Voice for Peace, a group I have belonged to for almost a decade.  more

To the Editor: I first met Judy McGowan in the mid-seventies. It’s hard to believe we were friends for over 45 years. Her recent passing was not only a tremendous loss for her family and friends, but it was a huge loss for our community and beyond. more
To the Editor: It is so nice to see our elected official expressing support for Israel in its time of need. Given the large Jewish population in our area, I would expect nothing less.  more
To the Editor: Hats off to our local elected officials for strongly and swiftly condemning Hamas’ barbaric slaughter of Israeli civilians. The show of unity from all our local Democratic Party leaders, from Ritchie Torres, Adriano Espaillat, Jeffrey Dinowitz, Eric Dinowitz, and Gustavo Rivera all the way down to our local Democratic District Leaders was impressive and heartening. more
To the Editor: (Re: “All stakeholders need to keep talking to each other,” Oct. 12) Cheers for the much-needed dose of common sense and plain speaking in State Senator Rivera’s  on the mark. more
