Incidents of explosions and fires regarding e-bikes, mopeds and other battery-operated cycles that require lithium-ion batteries have risen in 2022. There have been more than 400 investigations of lithium-ion battery related cases since 2019. A recent fire led to multiple bill proposals and legislations push for safety standards.
