Charles Amos grew up in Louisiana and spent 28 years in Louisiana State Penitentiary for second-degree murder. At Manhattan College he spoke about his time in prison and how his life improved. He is now a community outreach coordinator. Behind Amos on the monitor is Sammi Robinson, who was the longest serving prisoner in Louisiana having served at Angola for 66 years until his death in 2019.

There have been more than 400 investigations of lithium-ion battery related cases since 2019. A recent fire led to multiple bill proposals and legislations push for safety standards.

The New York Police Department arrested a Morris Avenue apartment building resident for arson March 1 hours after a fire in the building he lives in injured five people, including two firefighters, and displaced 12 families and 36 people, according to the American Red Cross and Fire Department of New York. more
