Couple robbed outside sports bar

There was a robbery outside of Playoffs Sports Lounge at 5668 Broadway on Sept. 24 between 3:30 and 4 a.m.

The victim told police that while he and his girlfriend walked to their car, four or five men jumped out of a nearby BMW, walking up behind the pair. One of the men in the car pointed a gun at the man and reportedly said, “You know who sent us.”

One of the perps dug through the couple’s vehicle, stealing a few credit cards and some jewelry worth more than $15,000.

Police were able to recover video of the incident, but no arrests have been made.

Sneaker thief

Someone broke into a storage locker inside the CubeSmart Self Storage at 5740 Broadway between Aug. 31 and Sept. 17, stealing nine pairs of shoes.

According to the police, the door to the unit and the lock were undamaged.

The sneakers were valued at around $1,840.

No arrests have been made.

Money orders fished

A man reported being the victim of a mailbox “fishing” scheme, telling the police that on Sept. 1, his landlord informed him that the two money orders he had sent had not arrived.

According to reports, the victim put the two money orders — totaling $1,302 — in the mailbox located near his residence on Reservoir Avenue. The perp who stole the money orders had “washed” the checks and deposited them in his name.

No arrests have been made.

Car stolen

A 2020 Toyota was stolen from the 5500 block of Broadway.

The victim told police they parked the car at around 2:30 a.m., on Sept. 20. When they returned just before 6 p.m., the next day, it was missing.

No cameras picked up the incident, and the vehicle is valued at $30,000. No arrests have been made.

Jewelry thief

A woman told police a home health aide burglarized her home.

The aide reportedly was cleaning the bathroom in the woman’s home on the 2800 block of Bailey Avenue when police say she stole several pieces of jewelry worth approximately $7,000.

No arrests have been made.

Airbags snagged

Two airbags were among the things stolen from a car parked at the northeast corner of Reservoir and Webb avenues.

A woman told police that she parked her car at around dinner time on Sept. 17, only to return in the late morning on Sept. 19 to find the front passenger window had been smashed open. Among the several items missing were two airbags, a wallet and gold chain worth $4,000.

There were no cameras in the vicinity, and no arrests have been made.
