Posted

An aborted carjacking sent one woman to the hospital March 16.

A black BMW SUV approached two women around 2 a.m., as they were getting into their vehicle parked on the 5600 block of Riverdale Avenue, according to police. Two men then hopped out of the BMW and tried to pull the driver out of her car after one flashed a gun.

While fighting off the carjackers, the driver hit the gas and slammed into a parked vehicle.

Amidst the chaos, the driver then backed up and hit her passenger, who had exited the vehicle in an attempt to flee. The three carjackers jumped back into their BMW, leaving the scene of the crime.

No shots were fired, but an ambulance took the passenger to the hospital with an injury to her leg.
