Great job getting out the vote

To the editor:

After an interminable election season and weeks of media talk about a “MAGA” wave, we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

A generally peaceful election was conducted, and record turnout attests to the commitment of Americans to the democratic process. Northwest Bronx Indivisible, a local grassroots community organization, is to be commended for their role in the elections and their contribution to democracy. The organization is committed to “defend the right to vote and pro-democracy efforts across the country.”

And they did just that this year. You saw the members all over Riverdale distributing packs of postcards to write and letters to get out the vote. They organized hundreds of Riverdalians to write thousands of notes to battleground states, teams to canvas in battleground counties, and mobilized unprecedented activism in our community.

Thank you, Northwest Bronx Indivisible.
