To the editor:
I believe that your Feb. 20 article on Lehman College Professor, Georgios Vernardos, “Making new discoveries in our ever-expanding universe,” was absolutely brilliant in its scope and analysis on what he does. And without it ever being said, we need this type of education in places such as the Bronx.
Having never met the man, or ever having seen him on campus, I am now considering him be a guest on my soon-to-be aired TV show called "The Newsgram."Possibly on BronxNet, Optimum channel 70.
But back to the story at hand, I read that he discovered a new ring around a galaxy or rather, his team from the Euclid Consortium did, named NGC 6505. Awesome!
Never since Einstein or even Galileo has such a profound discovery in the history of science been made and of all people, by a Bronx college professor.
Talk about Bronx strong.
