Handel's Messiah

New York state Supreme Court justice Andrew Cohen reads the ‘For behold, darkness’ part of the Messiah program. He was one of 23 Bronx luminaries, electeds and members of community organizations and the press — including Riverdale Press editor Gary Larkin and executive editor Michael Hinman — to read portions of the Messiah. Soprano Halley Gilbert belts out a tune as part of the Handel’s ‘Messiah’ program at The Hall of Fame Playhouse on the Bronx Community College campus Sunday. She was one of four soloists who performed as Bronx Opera House artistic director Michael Spierman conducted The Orchestra of the Bronx and the Bronx Opera Chorus.
