LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

I told all of you about COVID-19

To the editor:

In 2021, during the height of the lockdowns, I wrote a letter to this paper calling on state Sen. Alessandra Biaggi to revoke Andrew Cuomo’s emergency powers regarding COVID-19. I stated in that letter that the lockdowns were leading to the collapse of New York City, and that this was a policy that would have huge consequences for the city going forward.

I was roundly ignored.

I mentioned many things that are now accepted as fact now, but back then got me fired from my long-time teaching position at the New York Botanical Garden, as well as caused most of my landscaping clients to drop my services.

Since then I have been living on fumes as my formerly successful business is on life support.

The huge increase in crime in our neighborhood? Blame lockdowns.

The total collapse of our tax base as the most productive citizens left? Blame lockdowns.

The erosion of the social compact between us citizens? Blame lockdowns.

The hollowing out of the social ecosystem, which led to criminals filling the void? Blame lockdowns.

I could go on and on about the devastating effects of the lockdowns on people’s wallets, mental health and futures. I could go on and on about how the lockdowns destroyed the hopes and dreams of the young generation. I could go on and on about how the city will never recover until this is all acknowledged and dealt with. But I won’t.

All I’ll say is the real-world effects you are seeing now — the crime, filth, degradation and the failing city — are all the results of the policies most of you supported. And I for one find it deliciously ironic.

Perhaps in the future when they try to globally hoax us again with whatever the World Economic Forum cooks up as the next “crisis,” people will resist. But I have my doubts.

No, the lockdowns showed most of you to be spineless cowards who turned on your neighbors as their lives were being destroyed by corrupt and evil politicians. You gleefully yelled at us when we dared to walk without masks. You called us “conspiracy theorists” when we pointed out basic facts that anyone can look up. Facts which two years later are being acknowledged by the mainstream media as such.

Hey, liberal New York City, enjoy the city your minds and actions manifested! You have exactly zero right to complain about any of it, unless like me you were on the side of freedom from day one.

But for those interested in a way forward, just know that none of this ends until every politician — red or blue — who supported lockdowns is in Colorado supermax.

And may we never vote for World Economic Forum puppets again!
