LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

In America, our innocence is lost

Posted

To the editor:

Because something has been killed, something has died.

Something we thought was inviolable has been violated. Our country, our America, our ideals, our trust in the basic, basic goodness of human nature has been killed.

Our belief is that here, in this America, we are moral, ethical, lawful — and because of those things, unique among nations.

We may never believe this again. Our innocence is lost.
