My late father used to say about under-achievers: “Everyone wants to play with the giants.”
For a local publication like The Riverdale Press to devote a precious 18 column inches to a letter defending an anti-Israel position is striving for equality with many of the giants of the press. Such coverage comes at the newspaper’s expense of concentrating on local issues involving schools, zoning, road conditions and recreation facilities — just a few of the areas upon which a local newspaper should concentrate.
