Learning how to age 'forward'

Posted

Another year means another birthday, and another hashmark noting our time on this planet.

For some, growing older comes with fears and even depression — Can I do the same things I’m doing now? Can I be as vital? Can I stay as healthy?

These are important questions, and some of many that could be answered at a free webinar presented by RiverWalk Senior Apartment by RiverSpring Living and hosted by The Riverdale Press.

“Aging Forward: 2021 Trends” brings some of RiverWalk’s best minds together sharing the secret of why those who ultimately find their home in that senior community live as if they’ve discovered the fountain of youth. Riverdale Press editor Michael Hinman welcomes James Iatrou, Angelica Sibug and Debra Rodriguez to reveal what they know on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 11:30 a.m.

Iatrou is an award-winning chef and food services director for RiverWalk, and has been part of the community for more than a dozen years.

Sibug is a physical therapist in RiverWalk’s rehabilitation department, while Rodriguez is the community’s wellness coordinator.

All three will talk about how independence can be found through community, and is the key to aging well.

They’ll discuss today’s hottest trends — from diets and indoor exercises, to the power of balance for your safety and health.

Even better, they’ll stick around after their presentations to answer all of your questions.

Joining the webinar does require a computer or mobile device that can access Zoom. Not sure how to set that up? Event coordinator Amy Amato is ready to lend a hand.

Simply email her at aamato@richnerlive.com, or call (917) 559-7002.

And if you can’t join the panelists live on Feb. 18, register anyway, and get a link to a recording. That way you don’t miss a single word.
