As a Riverdale resident and member of the board of the Methodist Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation, I would like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz and his chief of staff, Randi Martos, and thank them for their recent visit to the home.

They toured the facility, including our new hemodialysis center: Rogosin Institute at Methodist Home.

The Assemblyman, a member of the health committee, and Ms. Martos met with our chief executive and administrator, Maria Perez, and our finance director, Sandra Rivera, as well as members of the Rogosin Institute, and representatives of the board.

They also met with Sarah Daly of Leading Age NY, a nursing home advocacy organization.

The Methodist Home and other not-for-profit long-term care facilities across New York state, faces many challenges in our diligent work to ensure excellent care for our community.

A few of these challenges include the current Medicaid reimbursement rate, ongoing workforce shortages, and lagging disbursement of state funds.

We discussed these issues and asked for Mr. Dinowitz’s help and support.

We look forward to continuing this relationship, and we hope for positive outcomes for these difficult issues moving forward.
