Manhattan College names interim president

Posted

This summer current president Brennan O’Donnell of Manhattan College plans his long-term sabbatical. Brother Daniel Gardner will serve as interim president.

President O’Donnell served as at 19th president as he guided the students in the colleges most critical moment in history — the transition to remote learning during the coronavirus environment.

William Dooley, chairman of the schoo’s board of trustees, said O’Donnell approached the board a year ago to discuss his options to complete his term in June 2022 prior to a sabbatical ahead of transitioning to teaching.

Because MC was still remote and was still facing some challenges with the following school year, the board and president agreed to postpone this decision and they appreciated O’Donnell’s patience.

The college will begin a search for O’Donnell’s successor..
