LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

No one stepped up

To the editor:

I will no longer entertain you with my grievances in my neighborhood.  Well, at least not now.

I give up! No one cared about the old roosters until they were gone. Well, your reporters did and the local politicians said they did.

No one cares about the parking lot our neighborhood streets have become.  Cars from all over the USA lining up for the rest of their lives — New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Vermont, Texas, Louisiana and more.

Campers along the service road are still there. Huge trucks come and go. There are now food trucks parked there. Taxis park overnight, as do commercial vehicles.

But I am done! I did my job along with the reporter from your paper. We tried. No one else did. The police didn’t ticket them. The politicians didn’t get them gone. The mayor’s office never responded. Even talking to the owners of the cars and trucks did not get them to move on.

There are more important things to do — wars, shootings, droughts, floods, lying politicians. I will refocus.

But thanks friends for letting me know you appreciated what I did even though, alas, you didn’t do any more than that.
