No Place for Adams’ Voice

Posted

To the Editor,

I am baffled as to why The Riverdale Press is still featuring “op-eds” by Mayor Eric Adams.

His Aug. 28 op-ed struck a bizarre note on a page devoted to opinion from local residents.

Adams, who has the notoriety of being the first New York City mayor indicted by federal prosecutors on counts of solicitation of contributions by a foreign national, conspiracy, bribery, and wire fraud, has been an inappropriate choice since February 2025. The added issue of Adams working with the Trump Justice Department to have the bribery charges dropped is another factor.

Considering we are entering the fall election season with a New York City mayoral race underway; this may have been an inadvertent oversight. However, unless The Riverdale Press wants to run “opinion pieces” by the other candidates, material by Adams should be put on permanent hold.
