NYIT’s milestones and achievements

One greater Riverdale resident graduated from New York Institute of Technology, another was named to the dean’s list and two declared their major.

David Gonzalez was one of 900 students who received his bachelor of science degree from the Class of 2022.

He studied electrical and computer engineering technology.

Nicholas Esquea made the schools spring’s 2022 deans list. He was one of nearly 400 students who were recognized to quality for this honor. He maintained a grades point average of 3.5 and completed 12 or more credits without any incomplete grades.

Esquea is a student in the digital arts, bachelor of fine arts program.

Anthony Illija, who will study architecture., and Lindsay Canarte, who will study architectural technology, declared their major.

New York Tech, founded in 1955, has two main campuses in Manhattan and Long Island — Old Westbury — and is a non-profit, independent, private and nonsectarian institute of higher education.  The school is also international, as their campuses are in Vancouver and China.

Tufts University’s dean’s list

Tufts University in Massachusetts recently announced its dean’s list for the Spring 2022 semester.

These students maintained a grade point average of 3.4 or greater during the course of the semester.

The greater Riverdale students are:

From the Class of 2023: Maya Friedson and Jael Strell.

From the Class of 2024: Claudio Galea and Will Hanson.

From the Class of 2025: Nolan Caile, Leo Deener and Maya Katz.

The university is located on campuses in three cities/towns in Massachusetts one including Boston. There is an international campus in Talloires, France. It is recognized as a student-centered research university with undergraduate, graduate professional and lifelong learning programs.
