Gellin' away with robbery
2759 Sedgwick Ave.

A 37-year-old man told police that three teens cornered him in the lobby of 2759 Sedgwick Ave. at around 11:50 p.m. on Nov. 1, pulled a knife against his neck and ran off with his keys and a bag full of hair products. Officers said one suspect put the 37-year-old in a “choke hold,” putting a knife up against his neck. A second young man snatched a bag with hair gel in it from his hand while the third suspect swiped keys from the 37-year-old’s jacket pocket, police said. As the victim struggled with his assailants, police said he got cut on his right hand, but managed to bite the right hand of the suspect. The commotion caught the attention of the victim’s brother-in-law, who police said opened the door, prompting the suspects to run off. The case remains open.
iPhone nabbed
Kappock Street and West 235th Street
Bronx, NY
Police said a man stopped an 18-year-old walking east on Kappock Street near the corner of Independence Avenue on Sunday evening, demanded his iPhone and threatened to shoot the teen when he fought back. The 18-year-old told officers that the man grabbed the iPhone out of his hand at around 5:05 p.m. When the teen tried to maintain his grip on the cell, police said the suspect warned him, “I’m not playing. I’ll shoot you.” The robber ran west on Kappock Street with the $160 iPhone 4 in hand, police said. The case remains open.
iPod swiped
Wets 235th Street and Riverdale Avenue
Bronx, NY
A 21-year-old man told police he was walking along West 235th Street when two men approached him near Riverdale Avenue, ordered him to hand over an iPhone, but made off with his iPod instead. Officers said a solo man stopped the 21-year-old first and said, “Let me get your iPhone,” while holding his waistband. Soon a second suspected joined him, officers said. The victim handed them his iPod Touch, worth $200, and police said they ran away. The case remains open.
Mr. Bagel burglarized
5672 Broadway
Bronx, NY
Mr. Bagel employees returned to the 5672 Broadway eatery at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday to find a safe containing $100, two laptops worth $1,500 each and a cash register with $2,000 in cash missing, according to police. The store closed at 5 p.m. on Friday and was not open Saturday. Police said it appeared burglars broke the door locks before ransacking the store. The business did not have alarms at the time of the burglary. The case remains open.
Wallet stolen from Toyota
West 256th Street and Broadway
Bronx, NY
A 50-year-old who parked his 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser near the corner of West 256th Street and Broadway at 3 p.m. on Oct. 29, returned about four hours later to find his passenger window smashed and his wallet stolen, police said. The missing wallet contained a debit card, his driver’s license and a ring worth $15. The case remains open.
