Report: Rabbi Weiss backing down over 'rabba' title for Hurwitz

The Jewish Star, a religious newspaper owned by Richner Communications, which also owns The Riverdale Press, is reporting that Rabbi Avi Weiss of the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale has reached an agreement with the Rabbinical Council of America that means that Sara Hurwitz, recently given the title of "rabba," (a feminization of rabbi) will go back to her previous title of Maharat.
