RVs are spreading to side streets

Posted

To the editor:

We have an RV situation where we have had the RVs that are parked along the Henry Hudson Parkway from the Manhattan College Parkway underpath, all the way up to West 252nd Street.

Now those RVs are been pushed up into our small side streets. Where people are living out of them and some are permanently abandoned.

As of maybe a few nights ago, we had two RVs set up shop on our residential streets, so now there are currently three RVs permanently parked across the street from Susan E Wagner Day School.

The area is not being cleaned, so there’s always trash and waste around these vehicles. Our neighbors and the school are concerned about the illicit activities that can take place around the kids of our community, and the unsanitary condition around our homes as we are experiencing an increase in the rat population, raccoons and other wildlife.

And parking for the residents, because those things take up space.

We would urge our community leaders and representatives to act on this matter.
