(re: “Biaggi forum tries changing shelter debate tone, feelings,” Dec. 23)
I have attended many meetings proposing homeless shelters, and none have ever been calm.
Individuals who are opposed usually shout those supporting any shelter down without even trying to understand the issue.
I applaud Sen. Alessandra Biaggi for proposing that we “take the time to be in discussion about the proposed shelter at 6661 Broadway in a very meaningful and thoughtful way.” By doing this, we can learn from each other, and come to reasonable consensus.
