Trumpism is the symptom

To the editor:

Trumpism is the symptom; capitalism is the disease.  Behind Trump's perfectly distracting outrageousness is a ruling class that hasn't rampaged so nakedly since the Gilded Age. They'd like to end civil and worker rights and meet basic needs only if profitable. Attacks on the marginalized, blitzkrieg deportations, firings and cutoff of lifesaving services all preview capitalism's inborn aim: unrestrained domestic and global exploitation.

This shock-and-awe campaign caps a decades-long war of austerity against the producing class. Policies of both owner parties hollowed out whole communities, while the liberals posed as "workers' friends," throwing crumbs to the oppressed and insisting that the only way out was "vote for us." That's still all the liberals can say.

But the working class has the cure  -- If we can tear off the liberal-electoral blindfold and resist independently of the bosses' politicians. We have the power to do this, and to build a better world. Workers collectively run and produce everything society needs and the parasites' profits too. Organized workers can lead the way. We must act together to boycott, blockade, strike!

President Trump, strike
