Trump's America feels eerily familiar

To the editor:

I am truly amazed at the swiftness of how Trump is changing America for the worse. The most egregious is making Elon Musk -- the apartheid baby and supporter of the far-right in Germany and other places in Europe -- the virtual unelected co-president of the U.S. He has unlimited power which he wielded to shut down United States Agency for International Development (USAID) which is doing so much good in the world and was started by President Kennedy in 1961.

Are Americans going to sit on their duffs and allow these men to change America into a fascist state? Years ago, in the ‘40s, a man who was obviously mentally ill proposed despicable and unbelievably horrible things and the population of Germany followed him down the rabbit hole. Will we allow that to happen here?
