$65K in jewelry stolen from man at a gas station

There was a report of a robbery at a Mobil gas station at 6161 Broadway around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, May 28.

A man was pumping gas at the station when an unknown individual approached displaying a firearm, police said.

The individual forcibly took jewelry totaling $65,000 and fled the scene. The case is currently open to the detective squad.

Car stolen on Sedgwick Ave

A 2016 Nissan Maxima was reported stolen on Friday, May 26 in front of 3850 Sedgwick Ave. The victim said he parked his vehicle at 3 p.m. and returned at 8:30 p.m. where he found his vehicle missing.

He stated it was locked and legally parked with no outstanding parking tickets.

 

SUB: Tires and rims taken

All four rims and tires from a 2022 Honda Civic were stolen sometime between Friday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 27 at 8 a.m., police said.

The victim parked her car opposite 3515 Independence Ave. on Friday and upon returning on Saturday discovered what was taken. The woman had apparently just purchased the vehicle the prior day from Honda.

There were no surveillance cameras at the location. The stolen rims and tires were valued at $3,000.
