Sgt. Israel Lugo Jorge said as soon as the alert was received fellow VA Hospital buddies went out to look for the bomber. He believes the alert system is a great tool and should be expanded upon.

Sammy Gonzalez did not receive the alert but was informed by his mother that an alert was transmitted. Mr. Gonzalez believes Riverdale is not a target but advises that people avoid the city especially during the holidays because Manhattan is potentially a target for further attacks.

Janet Simpson, with Gregory McNeal, believes the alert is a great idea but a picture should have been added directly to the alert because the only images she had seen were blurry ones from surveillance cameras in Chelsea.
For the first time, the police department issued an alert to every cell phone user in the New York City vicinity asking residents to be on the lookout for a man suspected of involvement with the Chelsea and New Jersey bombings over the weekend.
