Dangerous driving conditions

To the editor:

Palisade Avenue in Riverdale is a disaster! See for yourself. Between its south end at 254th Street and north end at the hook between Hebrew Home for the Aged and the College of Mount St. Vincent, the road surface is dangerous, uneven, rutted with potholes and a disaster for drivers. It is also dangerous for pedestrians who have no sidewalk and walk in the middle to find an even surface.

The road is essential to reach the Hebrew Home and also connects schools on Riverdale Avenue to another school on West 254th Street. It also handles the MetroLink buses serving Riverdale Station.

A few pictures would illustrate this disaster better than this letter. Or let your reporter post a video of a test drive!

I urge the paper to campaign to get this road fixed now.
