Five swastikas were carved, spray painted and constructed out of metal stakes and rope in the Van Cortlandt Golf Course last night or early this morning, police said.

According to police, two of the swastikas were etched and two spray painted into the golf course green. One made of fencing and rope was arranged on the ground.

Police said the vandals, who they believe are teens or youths, also spray painted pictures of male anatomy along with vulgar words. A small fire was ignited in the sand.

The damage was concentrated by the course’s 16th hole, which was closed for cleanup until around 2 p.m. today, according to a worker there.

There are currently no suspects. The incident has been referred to the Hate Crimes Task Force for investigation as a biased incident.
