The New York City Police Department reports four people assaulted three male teens on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at about 3 p.m. at 3720 Independence Ave.

The first victim is a 14-year-old male who was stabbed in the upper right thigh by four unidentified individuals after a verbal dispute, according to police from the 50th Precinct. That victim was transported to Montefiore Medical Center.

Another victim is a 13-year-old male who suffered a broken right arm. That person was transported to the hospital. Another is a 15-year-old male who was punched in the face with a closed fist causing bleeding to his lip. That victim refused medical treatment and left.

Police said the alleged assailants fled in a dark color SUV. One of the individuals is described as a male with a light complexion, heavy set wearing a black Polo sweatsuit with a black hat. Another person is described as a male with a light complexion heavy-set and partially bald.  He was last seen wearing a pink sweatshirt and black pants. Another alleged perpetrator is described as a tall male medium complexion wearing grey sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt with a red design on it. Another individual is described as a female light skin with her hair in a ponytail.

Airbag stolen

It’s typical to hear of catalytic converters and rims being stolen, but this time it was an airbag. A 43-year-old man reported the theft in front of 5664 Broadway on Sept. 21. He told police that when he returned to his 2017 Honda Pilot he discovered the rear passenger window broken into and airbag missing. Back in 2018 Honda vehicles were the target for many airbag thefts, with some selling for prices as high as $1,000, according to USA Today.

Mercedes Benz stolen

The last way anyone wants to end their night is returning to where they parked their car and not seeing it. Unfortunately, for a 26-year-old man this was the case on Sept. 17.

The man parked his 2015 Mercedes Benz in front of 5757 Broadway. When he returned around 11 p.m. he discovered the theft.

Attempted robbery at gunpoint

Just because you have a gun doesn’t mean your robbery will be successful. A would-be robber with a gun learned this lesson when his victim fought back on Sept. 20.

A 53-year-old man walking the corner of Major Deegan Expressway and Mosholu Parkway around 2 p.m. was approached by a man with a gun. The gunman demanded the man give him his wallet.

There have been no arrests and the victim was uninjured.
