Four teens arrested for allegedly robbing,  forcibly touching

Four teens were arrested in connection to two Kingsbridge robberies that occurred past midnight on Jan. 28, police said. During one of those robberies, a woman was dragged into a playground and forcibly touched while at gunpoint.

Officers from the 50th Precinct arrested Josue Colon, a 19-year-old man from Jersey City, New Jersey, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old who cannot be named because they are minors.

The first incident occurred around 12:05 a.m. at the intersection of West 242 Street and Broadway, police said.

A 26-year-old man reported to police that while he was sitting at a bench inside the park, he was suddenly approached by four individuals.

One of the four pointed a firearm at his head, while the other three stole his cell phone and $50 in cash, the witness told police. One of them struck the man in the head with the firearm, causing a laceration on his forehead, police said. EMS transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

The second crime occurred about a 10-minute walk away around 12:40 a.m. at 3620 Bailey Ave. That was where a female victim was allegedly dragged to Bailey Playground at gunpoint. While forcibly removing two cell phones and a handbag, the individuals forcibly touched her private parts, police said. The victim sustained minor injuries.

Following an investigation, officers from the 50th Precinct arrested the four teens. For the first crime, the four teens were all charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. For the second they were charged with robbery, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and forcibly touching.

Threat at Kingsbridge grocery store

Police received a report for menacing at a Stop & Shop in Kingsbridge on Jan. 25. A 25-year-old woman reported that around 5:30 p.m. inside of 5716 Broadway an unknown individual displayed a stun gun and threatened her.

The perpetrator fled southbound on Broadway on a bus.

No one was injured and police are currently investigating the incident.

Harassment at Kingsbridge McDonald’s

Police received a report for harassment at a McDonald’s in Kingsbridge on Dec. 30 around noon.

A 46-year-old man told police that while inside the fast food restaurant at 5765 Broadway an unknown person pushed and shoved him during a verbal dispute.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
