Man robbed by masked men

2. Three masked men robbed a 19-year-old of his iPhone at 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 2, according to police.

They said the victim was on his way home in front of 3137 Goulden Ave., when the three attackers began punching him and kicking him.  Eventually one of the robbers took his iPhone 5 and the three fled the scene.

The victim was unable to identify any of his assailants. The case is open to detectives.

Restaurants targeted in tough week

3. Three restaurants were the targets of a series of crimes this week, one of which was burglarized just a few months ago.

More dedicated Police Beat readers might remember Silhouette Lounge, a restaurant and bar at 5668 Broadway, was burglarized in late June, and taken for $19,000, by two men who had broken in through the back door.

On Nov. 4 at 4:50 a.m., three men burglarized the store again in the same manner and police say they caught them.

The three suspects, 23, 25 and 27-years-old, allegedly broke into the restaurant and then gained access to the main dining area with crowbars and stole over $1,000.

Police officers, however, were able to track and catch the accused burglars during a canvass of the area.

This case is closed to investigation.

Another bar up on Riverdale Avenue was not so lucky.

4. Police say three men broke into Tin Marin, a tapas bar at 3708 Riverdale Ave., at 3:55 a.m. on Nov. 1, though they did not say whether the two crimes were related.

According to police, the three perpetrators broke the lock on the front door of Tin Marin and took a safe and raided a cash register for $1050.

This is still open to investigators.

5. One restaurant was robbed at nearly 9 p.m. on Nov. 5, according to police.

A man, whom police described as about 18 years old, claimed he had a gun and robbed Fresco Tortillas, at 561 W. 235th St.

Although no gun was shown, the perpetrator, about 5-feet, 5-inches, did simulate one in his pocket.  He managed to make off with $600 and fled on foot towards Johnson Avenue.

This case is open to detectives.
