Man in coma after attack

1. A man was attacked and severely beaten by eight other people in front of the Parilla Latina restaurant at 5523 Broadway on Sunday at 4:15 a.m., police said. 

The victim, 36, has been taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is being treated for serious head trauma.  

The man was involved in an altercation with another person, who punched and knocked him to the ground. Seven other men proceeded to punch and kick him while on the ground until he was unconscious, police said. 

When police arrived on scene the eight men had fled northbound on Broadway.

News 12 The Bronx reported that witnesses saw the victim arguing with a woman and pushing her before the attack ensued, but police at the 50th precinct said they could not confirm the account. 

This case is open to detectives.

Robbery of the week 

2. A 19-year-old man was attacked, beaten and robbed by 10 others while he was on his way home on the corner of Broadway and W. 225th Street on Sunday. 

According to police, 10 attackers punched and kicked the victim while he was on the ground, before taking his wallet and two phones. In all, the assailants took $628 worth of property. 

The victim told police he could identify all of his attackers. 

This case is open to investigation.

 

Home burglarized for fourth time this year

3. Three young women told police their home was burglarized for the fourth time this year on Sept. 30. 

The women, aged about 20, who live at 2865 University Ave., said they went out for dinner last Friday night. When they returned, the women discovered that someone had stolen $297 in cash despite the fact that there were no visible signs of forced entry, according to their account to police. 

The alleged victims told police this was the fourth time they had been burglarized, though they had never reported it before. 

This case is open to detectives.

 

One man’s two cars stolen overnight

4. A man had both of his cars stolen in one night during the predawn hours on Sunday, according to police. 

He said he went to bed at 1 a.m. on Oct. 2, and when he woke up again at 6 a.m., both of his cars were gone from in front of his home at 330 Sedgwick Ave.

The 2011 Honda Pilot and 2000 Nissan Altima were worth a total of $28,500.
