Teacher Louise Dubinsky, 87

Louise Goldsmith Dubinsky, 87, passed away peacefully Jan. 4, 2018, at The Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst, Massachusetts. 

Beloved wife of Joseph for more than 50 years, proud and loving mother of Steven and Leslie. Mother-in-law of Dina and Carol, and delighted grandmother of Victor and Liza.

A warm, outgoing and gregarious woman who adored her late husband, loved her family and friends, valued humor, laughed easily and often, cared deeply about humanity and politics. She loved all her children, her own as well as others’, and was a committed teacher for more than 35 years.

She graduated Dalton School in 1948 (known as “Sneezy” to her friends) and graduated from Goucher College in 1952. After teaching for many years, she returned to school at Teachers College of Columbia University, earning a degree in education of the hearing impaired.

A gathering in remembrance of Louise will be held at Applewood at Amherst for family and friends Jan. 20 at 3 p.m.
