Tom Sciarrotta passed away quietly at Montefiore Hospital on Feb. 10, 2024, with his brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew at his bedside. He was 76.

A lifelong resident of the Bronx having lived on Sedgwick Avenue, Sciarrotta was very involved with several organizations, dedicated to helping others work through addiction. He retired from the New York City Parks Department, and enjoyed biking, martial arts, and music. His nieces have fond memories of riding on his motorcycle; he was always way cooler than our parents.

Born on Dec. 12, 1947, Tom was preceded in death by his mother Mary and father George, and his long-time partner Martha. Tom is survived by his sister Noel, brother George, sister-in-law Laura, nieces Maria, Nina, and Daniela, nephews Nick, Joey, Matt, and Graeme, and grand-nephews Elijah and Francis.

A funeral mass was held on Feb. 17 at St. Joseph’s Church, 15 North Ave., Millbrook NY 12545.  Allen Funeral Home in Pleasant Valley handled funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to any organization of your choice that helps treat addiction
