FYI, there's a meeting today on the subject:

BIG NEWS ON INDIAN POINT. On Thursday, May 17th the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will host an open house and public meeting to discuss the NRC’s assessment of safety performance at Indian Point Units 2 & 3 for 2011. The public meeting will take place at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown, NY and begins at 6 pm. This is a GREAT opportunity to ask questions directly to NRC staff, discuss issues and concerns related to Indian Point, and make public statements about the importance of closing down Indian Point. The meeting is a Category 3 meeting; the NRC will not give a formal presentation and the open house will largely consist of Q&A – so get your comments and questions ready!
