Adored, admired Suzana Cohn, 87

Suzana Cohn passed away Nov. 6, 2020. She was 87.

Born in 1933 in Bucharest, Romania, she was an extraordinary woman who survived both the Holocaust and Soviet oppression.

After emigrating to New York City in 1966 with their two young daughters Odette and Luiza, she ran a dental laboratory with her husband, Isac Cohn.

She lived in Riverdale for more than 50 years, and was adored and admired by her neighbors and friends. She loved classical music, ballet, opera, and most of all, her family.

She is survived by daughters Luiza Diamond and Dr. Odette Cohen; grandchildren Joshua Kurtz and Teddy Diamond; son-in-law Dr. Mason Diamond, and brother Aurel Fontaine. Her loving husband Isac passed away in 2012, and her son-in-law Peter Kurtz passed away last May.

Like a star whose light remains bright long after it is gone, her love and spirit will always be with us.
