Riverdale Neighborhood House — working with NYC Health + Hospitals as well as with the Mount Sinai Hospital System — has provided more than 1,000 free coronavirus tests since Dec. 20, and will have more available over the next few days:

• Friday, Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Monday, Jan. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Tuesday, Jan. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Tests are conducted at the neighborhood house pool deck, 5521 Mosholu Ave.

The tests are PCR, with results available in between 24 and 48 hours.

Afghan refugee virtual town hall

The Westchester Jewish Coalition for Immigrants hosts a virtual town hall Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m., about the impending loss of temporary shelter currently being used by some 30,000 Afghan refugees at military bases around the country.

The town hall talks about not only the crisis, but what help could be available — including microgrants, which become available beginning Jan. 2.

To participate in the town hall, register at tinyurl.com/WJCIForum.

For more information on microgrants and the immigrant coalition itself, visit WJCI.org.

Excelsior Pass now available to veterans

No need to carry a card around when you can prove your vaccination status with the Excelsior Pass. That is unless you got your vaccination at a Veterans Affairs facility.

Until now. Gov. Kathy Hochul says nearly 117,000 veterans who were vaccinated this way in New York now have access to the smartphone app.

For more information on getting the passport, visit tinyurl.com/ExcelsiorPass.
